Sally Mankus
was born in Augusta, Georgia. She moved often while growing up, living
in various parts of the U.S. and in two foreign countries. In 1973
she moved to Colorado where she lived until her move to Florida in 1991.
She now lives and works in Shalimar, Florida.
Mankus received
a B.A. from Baylor University, Waco, Texas and a B.S. from the University
of Southern Colorado, Pueblo, Colorado. She attended the University
of Colorado at Colorado Springs from 1987-89.
In 1994, Mankus
was awarded a Florida Individual Artist Fellowship, Division of Cultural
Affairs, State of Florida.
Her work has
been included in newspaper articles, catalogues and publications including
New American Paintings, The Open Studios Press, Wellesley, Massachusetts,
June 1998 and July 2001.
